Peter Howson (1958-)

Howson is widely regarded as one of his generation's leading figurative painters. He was brought up in the rough climate of Glasgow .His paintings show the laid bare emotions from the streets of Glasgow to War torn Bosnia. He is collected by many famous celebrities. His works hang in some of the most famous public galleries in the world . In London he is featured at the Tate and Imperial War Museum. In New York he holds wall space in the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the New York Library. Indeed he is well known the world over. Howson also was commissioned by the Royal mail for a series of stamps to mark his his work .
